Adult Pottery Classes

Make functional and decorative pottery with wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques.  Create your own vases, mugs, sculptures, boxes, tiles, bowls, pitchers, plates, planters, windchimes and more.  Space is limited, so reserve your spot now!  Call Laura Kolinski-Schultz to register for classes at  (330) 324-9319 or (330) 966-5272 or email at terraki2@yahoo.com. 

Payment by check is required one week before the session begins.
Six-Week class tuition of $125.00 includes one 25 lb bag of clay, glazes and firing.  There is a late fee of $10.00 for any tuition paid after the first day of class.  Additional clay is available at $35.00 per 25 lb bag.  You may bring your own tools or use studio tools during class.  Daytime classes may be arranged.  Wear play clothes!

                                          *IMPORTANT INFORMATION*

*Private lessons in HAND-BUILDING or THROWING for young people and adults are available at $35 per class for adults, $25 per class for children.  Clay, Glazes and Firing are included in Children's private lesson fees.

*Classes and workshops for young people (8 to 16 years old) may be arranged. This includes Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and Home Schooled children.
Four-week session: $60 per student. Children's classes are 1 1/2 hours long. Class fee includes all materials. Minimum: 4, Maximum: 8.

*Alternate class dates and times for groups may be arranged if you have 2 to 4 people who wish to take a class.
 

*If you miss a class, you may make it up within the same session by attending a scheduled class on another day if there is room. 

*I will only fire clay that you purchase from me, and only with the glazes I have here!

*If you have clay left over after a class session ends, you may make pieces at home and
I will bisque fire them for you, up to 6 weeks following the end of your class. 

* If you need to glaze your work here after your session has ended you will need to schedule and pay for a private lesson,  or register for another 6-week session of classes.


About the Artist/Instructor

Laura Kolinski-Schultz has taught pottery to children and adults at the Canton Museum of Art and at her home studio since 1990.  She has a B.A. in Art from Mount Union College and a B.S. in Art Education from Kent State University.

She has studied with Taiwanese artists Yih Wen Kuo and Ah Leon at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.  She is a member of the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild and participates in local art shows.
